This quintet is truly a european jazz exploration. Organic improv, poetic melancholy, composed frames investigating the folklore of France, Denmark, Poland, Hungary and you even find inspirations from the vast Mongolian grasslands and the pygmees vocal tradition.
Living Things is a collaboration between the french pianist Paul Wacrenier and the danish Saxophonist Sven Meinild. Together they created the band as vehicle to explore their common interest in sound and music. With a jazz mindset but a definitely european sound, they can almost sound like the Garbarek/Jarret quartet on a wild day.
